The Journey Continues..

...and as it does, we progress further along the wanted destination. The red images depict the clothing as it is worn on the Kidd's body. I'm still working on the head. Though it is better than the previous, I'm still unhappy. The Kidd's head has been the most problematic feature as of far. These improvements were made about a week ago. In addition I have added the Kidd's sword for both scale reference and awesomeness.

The following images are the most recent progressions. I've spent more time working out the costume by adding seams and other details. I rather fancy the leather turnout out for the boots, coat, and pants. Each piece has a different type of leather pattern. The face still needs work...

Return

It has been a rather long time from my last post. Events in life have been rather... interesting, none of the less, I have brought you a glimpse of my progress. The first image is the current Z-brush model of the Captain Kidd Kaedo. Not noticing until now, the back of the legs are looking rather strange and must have immediate attention. In addition, the following image is the clothing block-out that I have for him. The boots are much to long, so I'm in dire need of resizing that. His coat is still in order, so that will need to be worked upon.

In addition, I've been working on some accessories for the Kidd. I made his sword, an ancient weapon birthed from the depths of Hell and rightfully named. "The Fallen One". This sword was found in one of the Kidd's adventures out at sea. Though massive, the weapon is very light and inflicts horrid results upon its victims. The first image of the sword was a first pass at texturing whilst using body paint. The following is the same model with more attention.

The next item for show, is "Sword is the Stone". It is a relic left by religious officials during one the many crusades. The Kidd acquired it during one of his visits to the Vatican, where he saved the Pope from a near death experience. Not much of a weapon, this sword is used as an agent of protection. Sword is the Stone, gives an aura of protection over what ever means of transportation that it is on. It has also been given the name, "Safe Cross-ing".

Naturally, Captain Kidd Kaedo has to have a treasure chest laying around. This is one of many treasure chests that he has. I did not model the chest, I only textured it and added minimal objects to it.

The Metal Whip is the weapon of choice for Lady Injurious. The whip is possessed and seeks the blood of its victim. With the use of this weapon, there is never a bad hit. The fancy table is a gift from her husband, lacquered in blood and coated with a pleasant red varnish. The table is not my model, thus I will not take any credit for it. I only textured it. Currently, Lady Injurious is out of town and will return shortly for her photo shoot with wonderful images of her on this blog.

Blocking out Captain Kidd Kaedo

The blocking...So the adventure began with a horrid blocking of the Captain. So horrid was this this blocking, that the very thought sends needles into the cranium. However, the captain was saved from his narrow death by Mr. Dedecker's advice. Henceforth, I destroyed the previous base mesh and have constructed a much better one. Therefore, I transferred the poly body into Zbrush for a bit of sculpting and concocted the following. Much work is still in need, yet a bright light shines in the distance and the Captain Kidd Kaedo may plunder the seas once again.

Lady Injurious

I present to you, with great honor, Lady Injurious. Hailing from the Eastern States, Lady Injurious is a strong and intelligent woman. The gothic beauty with a whip from hell and a pair of sharp luring eyes, stops at nothing to get her way. Lady Injurious pridefully hunts for the weak willed to succumb to her evil bidding with the hope of conquering the world. She plans to rule with the her loyal army of criminals and the dead. Lady Injurious is a fun character to model, for she will be the first female character that I will render out in 3D. The following are my previous sketches and research that I put together that will aid me with the construction of her.

Capatin Kidd Kaedo

So I present to you, Captain Kidd Kaedo. This is one of the characters in which I have decided to model and sculpt. Captain Kidd, was once part of the Spanish Navel forces, but has left the force to live his life as his own captain traveling the world for adventures and treasures. Captain Kidd, is a traveler and thus, picks up momentos from his many travels.
The following images are my character research sheets. These will assist me with how I will bring, the Kidd, alive.

The Search

I'm currently in the midst of discovering the character's in which I would be fond of Modeling. Temporarily I've been considering drawing the characters myself. Thus, I shall feel a bit more pride in the creation, knowing that later I will have less opportunities to do so. By the end of this weekend, I shall post my decisions.
